JACOB AND FRIENDS
Jacob Tischler,
a junior at
Champlain
Valley Union
High School,
appears
regularly
in choral,
a cappella,
drama, dance,
and musical
Jacob Tischler
theater
events for his
school and with various community
organizations. He began vocal training
with the Essex Children’s Choir and
now studies with Bill Reed. This
summer, he will travel throughout New
England for his third season with the
international award winning youth
circus, Circus Smirkus, and will be a
clown in this year’s Tour, “Smirkusology:
a Science Extravaganza.” When not
behind on his homework, he enjoys
fi shing, composing choral and
a cappella music, and trying to get as
much rest as possible.
Jacob speaks: “‘This is a rundown
of how I’ll be performing on the
31st (I do believe). I’m going to be
doing an a cappella version of the
‘Star Spangled Banner’ with three
other people: my brother Ethan
(sophomore), Alex Johnson (senior),
and Sammy Angstman (junior). Alex is
heading to Lawrence University, and
has performed with me as Poobah in
CVU’s ‘The Hot Mikado’, an ensemble
member in CVU’s ‘Leader of the
Pack’, and the Priest in CVU’s ‘Les
Miserables’. He also participates
in the CVU Men’s Chorus and the
CVU Jazz Band. Sammy Angstman
is an extremely talented pianist, and
participates in the CVU Women’s
Chorus and Jazz Band. She also is
in the Vermont Youth Orchestra, and
we’ll be performing a piano solo at
next year’s concert. Ethan is in Men’s
Chorus and was Nanki Poo in ‘The
Hot Mikado’, ensemble in ‘Leader
of the Pack’, and Tevye in WCS’s
‘Fiddler on the Roof.’”

Romans, will perform a rockin’
version of the ‘Star Spangled Banner’
to kick off TeenFest on Sunday.
